Lewisham Children & Family Centre

We have a wide range of parenting workshops and programmes to support families:

PIPT

6 x 1:1 sessions with 1 parent and 1 child. 

Criteria: Child aged 4-8 years with serious conduct/behavioural difficulties i.e Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Family’s needs are too complex to be met by group based parent-training/education programme or at risk of relationship breakdown.             

Aim: Promote positive child/parent relationships, by coaching parents to alter the way they interact with their child.

INCREDIBLE YEARS

A 14 week group programme.

Criteria: Parents of children aged 4-11 years with serious conduct/behavioural difficulties i.e Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

Aim: To strengthen parent-child interactions by nurturing relationships and fostering parents’ ability to promote children’s social,   emotional, and language development.

TRIPLE P

A 9 week group programme.

Criteria: Parents of children aged 2-8 years. 

Aim: To provide simple and practical strategies to help parents build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behaviour and prevent problems developing. 

TEEN TRIPLE P

A 9 week group programme.

Criteria: Parents of teenagers aged 10-16 years.                     

Aim: To provide simple and practical strategies to help parents build strong, healthy relationships,   confidently manage their children’s behaviour and prevent problems developing. 

SCHOOLS OUTREACH & BEING A PARENT TASTER SESSIONS

Introductory taster sessions.

Criteria: Parents of children aged 2-8 years.

Aim: To enable parents to reflect on their parenting and find out about future programmes.

BEAUTIFUL BABIES, BEAUTIFUL BRAINS

A 6 week group programme.

Criteria: Parents of babies aged 3-18 months where there are concerns about attachment and parenting capacity.

Aim: To introduce the Five to Thrive approach to parents, to support and build secure parent/child attachment.

OWL BABIES

A 6 week programme.

Criteria: Parents with babies under 1 year.

Aim: Outdoor programme exploring how being outdoors supports healthy brain development. Introduce the Five to Thrive approach and how the earliest experiences shape a baby’s brain and have a lifelong impact on a baby’s mental and emotional health.

BABY MASSAGE

A 6 week programme.

Criteria: Parents with babies under 1 year.

Aim: Encouraging positive interactions between parent and child, through song and massage.
