Drumbeat Outreach Sessions for parents of children with ASD and Social Communication Differences.

Having a child with a Social Communication Disorder or Autism can be isolating at times, especially when you feel your child is struggling and your usual sources of parenting information can’t help.

Drumbeat School and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Service is a 4-19 special needs school for autism in Lewisham and the Drumbeat Outreach schools team offers a termly calendar of workshops on a range of topics, strategies and interventions to support the needs of parents and carers.

All free sessions are aimed at parents, family members and carers living with and supporting individuals with social communication difficulties, including children and young people with a diagnosis of ASD.

The workshops aim to provide a safe place to discuss your child’s strengths and needs with other parents and to share some practical strategies and top tips!

Other workshops throughout the year include: Understanding Autism, Developing Early Communication, Preparing for Puberty and the Teenage Brain, Managing Anxiety, Supporting your Child with their Learning, It’s Different for Girls, Preparing for Transition to Secondary School, Supporting CYP with School Based Anxiety leading to Difficulties with Attendance and Emotional Regulation Strategies so please check back frequently for additional courses.

If you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked, please contact outreach admin via phone or email so they can allocate the place to another parent.
