And you’ll even get a certificate too once you’ve completed all the sessions.

What ages are the programmes aimed at?

0-5yrs.

What does the course cover?

  • Session One will explore the importance of the home learning environment and thinking about how singing and sharing stories can support children’s early language development as well as their emotional and physical development.
  • In Session Two we will create awe and wonder, by creating bubble snakes together as well as exploring how we can make the most of the great outdoors and how this can support your child’s learning.
  • In Session Three we will be making music with the kitchen band as well as sharing some further activities giving you ideas about how you can support your child’s emotional development in the home.

Being Together, My Baby and Me is a free online five-week programme especially designed for families with babies.

This online programme, funded by the Department for Education, combines advice on baby’s learning and development with post-natal support for new parents.

There are five sessions, each one an hour long, looking at a different topic with lots of opportunities to share and learn as we discuss our thoughts and chat about our experiences together.

Topics covered include:

  • baby brain development and sensory play
  • early language and communication
  • positive mental health — especially by being outdoors (for parents/carers and babies)
  • keeping your baby safe
  • the importance of play.

Each programme is held virtually on Zoom – and don’t worry we know that babies don’t always follow a timetable, so the sessions are very relaxed and informal giving everyone a chance to see and talk to others in a similar situation to themselves.

There will also be a chance to share your experiences and get to know other families with new babies.

The course is free of charge thanks to the support of the Department for Education
