Message from Lewisham Food Bank to professionals making referrals for families (14/04/2020)
As we are dealing with greatly increased demand, please make only one referral for a client in a 7-day period. You will need to assess a client’s need each time they make a request to you – we cannot set up a rolling order. We have set a limit of five referrals per client in this current crisis period.
This week will be the last week that clients are able to come to the Hope Centre. After Friday 17th April, all food parcels will be delivered. Deliveries are made around 48 hours after referral and will take place between 3.30 and 6pm. We will call the client in the morning and ask them to be ready to receive the parcel that afternoon. Please make clients aware they will be called from a number they will not recognise/no caller ID.
As before, food parcels will reflect the number of people in the household and will be adjusted for dietary needs that we are made aware of.
